Our little old silver mining town is about 75 miles south of Las Vegas, Nevada, and 210 miles north of Phoenix. It is in the high desert area at an elevation of 4200 feet. The weather is comfortable all year round.

Chloride Attractions & Other Interesting Tidbits

Chloride, Arizona is home to 250 residents.

Chloride is known as the "Gem of the Cerbats"

Chloride is home to the Oldest Silver Mining Camp in Arizona

America's only ALL Female Gunfighter Group, the Wild Roses of Chloride, perform a great family fun show on Saturday's at high noon. The Lady Gunfighters are all local residents.

Minerals in the mountains surrounding Chloride have lured people to this area for centuries. Remnants of mines dot the mountains that surround Chloride.

Silver, Gold, lead, zinc, and turquoise have been found in the area. Today some of the mines are privatly owned while others are on public land.

In the 1860's, silver was found on what is now called Silver Hill.

Just outside of town you'll find Roy Purcell's murals. in a boulder-strewn side canyon, you'll find both petroglyphs of prehistory and painted mural depicting desert scenes. Scenes of weathered buildings, ghost towns, landscapes and symbolic figures under an all-seeing sun decorate rock faces on either side of the canyon.

The Butterfield Stage served Chloride from 1868 to 1919, and stopped at what is now Yesterday's Restaurant.

The Santa Fe Railroad from Kingman traveled to Chloride from 1898-1935 It was called the B&F or Back & Forth.
